Delivery truck broke the glass
This is becoming comical. I can wait to share this with MI Windows and Doors President. The technician called this morning to tell the glass was broken in transit. He has reorder the glass and will have a new delivery date by the end of the week.

SOB another missed date
Installer called me last week and said it would be available the following week. He called again last Monday and said he would be by to install on Wednesday or Thursday. Well guess what, it still has not been replaced.

Come on in
He finally did show up around 11:45. After measuring the window from the outside and tromping down my ground cover, he let himself in the front door. Didn't bother to wipe is feet much and walked around my nice carpet to the window to cut it free. He gave me the order, which I faxed to the factory. Hopefully next week he says.

Missed his 9:30am
Not that I need to be here for the measurement, but he failed to show at 9:30am. I called him and he is running late and will be here around 11:30am.

First clue
My home was renovated back in 2003 with new windows purchased at Yardbirds in the SF Bay Area. This year I noticed one of the windows had a broken seal, so I started the process of getting it replaced via the life time warranty. Here is a quick time line on the process:
8/2/10 - I submitted a claim and was pleasantly surprise by the excellent customer service.
8/4/10 - My claim was approved and the next step was to await contact by a field person within the next 30 days.
8/11/10 - Field person contacts me and says he is awaiting delivery on replacement glass, which should arrive in 2 weeks.
8/25/10 - First red flag - Field person calls and asks if someone already installed the glass. My response was no and he said he thought he saw glass with my name on it and he would check and call me back.
8/30/10 - Second red flag - Field person has not called back, so I call and he says he needs to measure the window it was never ordered.
8/30/10 - Odd, but ok. I call the factory and they know I have an xox window from the tag on the window I provided, but they still need to send someone to measure the glass.
